Happy Clean Sheets at the MTC Day mom!!!
Yes I did in fact change my sheets today and it's wonderful! :) hahaha :) the immunization thing is totally taken care of. I'll get a booster shot right before I leave, which is 4 weeks exactly from today! AHHHHHHH!!!! :) :) :)
Yeah weather here is crazy too. Only we'll get snow and then by the afternoon it’s usually gone, but today, it appears to be sticking. So the boys made it to state eh? That’s super cool!! Tell dad to take good notes and play by play action so i can chew those guys out k?
Tell ash that it's ok, cuz when you get to college, you don't have to ask your parents ;) haha. I'm sorry she's bummed, but that date will be way fun! (Ashleigh was invited by one of her friends to go with her to state, but we have a rule about road trips with friends.) I'm bummed Nikki didn't go with Craig. If those girls weren't so amazing they wouldn’t have to worry about it, but they are absolutely fantastic so there’s not a lot they can do about it :) I love those girls! Who is Nikki hoping to get asked by do you know?
Thanks for sending me those pictures of Steph and Matt!! That’s exactly what i was hoping to see!! Man that's so fun! And I got those pictures so that was super exciting!! Steph’s dress looks great! Is she not getting that one? You said more wedding/prom dress shopping....did she change her mind? Ooooooh. I like the idea of the write the missionary booth!! That would be a ton of fun! I need pictures of the engagement picture shoot too k? I <3 pictures!!! :) And I need ash's prom pictures too.
WHOA!!! Lys is going to Russia?? When did she decide this? And when is she leaving? That’s gonna be so much fun!! She’ll love it! I'm glad her and Ricky are still dating. That’s so good! I pray for them...I love him. He's so good for her. Has she had a blessing about that whole situation? I have an unshakeable testimony of the power of the priesthood. That could be really helpful for her to relax.

Hahaha how does dad like that spikey hair style? I can't picture that at all!! That’s super funny! Are there any kids at the high school that can actually grow facial hair? (This of course coming from the missionary that only shaves so the other missionaries won't laugh at him ;) )
I was actually thinking this morning how I knew that Steph would be totally ok. The Lord is watching out for her and Matt. I know he is, and I’ve been praying for them. So they’ll be fine! :) I'm glad things are working out, and I pray that they won't stress, because there is NO need :)
Yeah Elder Wilson and I are getting along a TON better. We've needed the Lord's undivided attention, but we're finally communicating well, listening to each other, and for the most part, we're getting along :) Thank heavens for Elder Mendez. Please pray he doesn't get his visa and leave before we do k? K thanks! :) Sorry this is kind of boring...not a lot to talk about the MTC kind of all the same, but I love it and I'm doing wonderful! If you have any specific questions I would be more than happy to answer them for you!! I love you so much and thank you SOOO much for keeping me posted!! I love it!!! I'm so sorry your week has been crazy!!!! I’m so sad that
Becki passed away! That is so sad for everyone she left here, but I’m SO
grateful her pain is gone and she gets to feel the peace and calm and complete
alegria (joy) of being home. I always like to use alegria because it seems so
much fuller and true in Portuguese. What a blessing for her. Don't feel bad
mom. You've been an incredible friend to her and I am 100% sure that she knows
that you love her and miss her. I know that. I also know that she would want
you to not stress about it. Because that's who she is. She loves you mom, and
she knows you love her. Don’t stress it.
Oh my word I’m SO glad to hear about Sister Andersen! She's
been in my prayers, and the Lord is answering our prayers! Just like he always
does....sometimes we just need to be patient because our Heavenly Father knows
what is best for us, even if we can't see it. I'm learning that more and more every
day, but it only makes my love for Him grow, because He loves us enough, to not
give us everything we ask for when we ask for it because he knows what we need
and when we need it. What a blessing to have someone watching over us with only
the best in mind. What a comfort eh?
Super sad for the girls ball team!! :/ but they got there!
and that's something that hasn't happened for a long time! were they pretty
bummed out? They shoudn't be. I'm sad for Steph. She has such a passion it's
unreal! haha :) Man the boys play in the district championship 2 years in a row

stressing, and He loves you and He'll help you every step of the way! He
doesn't care at all about what the wedding is like, or where the breakfast is,
or who's invited, but He cares about you and Steph, and you guys care, so the
Lord will help you. I know it. I'm glad meeting with the Wood's went well.
They're great people! I love them a lot! I didn't know Shauna and Kim wanted to
get sealed!! That would be fantastic!!! What an amazing thing for them to have
the blessings of the temple in their lives. I love the temple so much it's
ridiculous! I get to go in a few minutes so that will be great! Highlight of my
week.
YAY for dress shopping suave-ness!! I'm SO glad she found

freaking, but how's the groom to be? and is this official? are they engaged

I love Book of Mormon stories! that's crazy they put in new
verses. They can't be messing with my childhood songs!!! haha just kidding! at
least they’re good ones :)
So I've talked a ton about how the Lord loves us and has a
plan and answers us the way He wants to right? yeah well the reason for that is
that my testimony has grown so much about this. I've been having some really weird
crazy thoughts and I’ve been struggling in certain areas, and I haven’t been
able to figure out why. It's been like some hardcore intense battle inside of
me. I can testify that the power of Satan is real. He works on us all the time
and he works hard. When Joseph Smith talks about the unreal darkness that he
felt during his prayer, that feeling is so real. It scared me. It really scared
me. But I can also testify with Joseph Smith, that the power of the Lord is
stronger. The light will ALWAYS conquer the darkness. The Lord will never give
us anything that we can't handle. He allows us to go through these things to
prove ourselves. We prove to ourselves that we can do it, and we show the Lord
our devotion and trust in Him. My teacher, Irmao O'Brien shared a scripture
with us that told us to thank the Lord in all things, even our trials. That was
interesting to me at first, but I’ve come to know that that principle is true.
I'm SO grateful for this hard time that I honestly cannot express in words,
because it means that the Lord knows I can make it through this, and He needs
me to go through this because I will become stronger because of it. Elder
Tonga, an elder in my zone, reminded me that Satan knows our potential, and
doesn't want us to meet that. So he will do EVERYTING in his power to stop us,
and the Lord allows him to try us, so that we can learn and grow and come
closer to Him and be stronger. I've realized that the Lord is answering my
prayers. I've been praying to become the best possible tool in the Lords hands
that I can. I've been praying to have Him help me grow and develop. And He's
answered me. He answered me with this trial. This is the refiner’s fire.
Through this, I can become the person and the missionary the Lord needs. I'm so
so grateful.
I love you all so much. More than you know. I thank the Lord
everyday for you and I pray he'll bless you, and He will. Please keep praying
for me, and i love letters! and pictures!!! :) love you all! Until next week!!

Happy Valentine's Day Mom!!!
Thanks so much for the package! It made me so happy! My week has been pretty good. The language is coming slowly but surely. I still have to think about all the sentences I say in Portuguese for quite a while, but I'm starting to be able to speak my thoughts...mostly. Elder Wilson found out the other day he is staying for the whole time here. It has to do with transfers in Portugal or whatnot. He's upset, and to be completely honest, so am I, but I guess there's something I need to learn from him, so I’m trying to look for it. We're doing tons better as a
companionship, though, for the most part. Gym is great! I've actually been playing a ton more volleyball here and that's way fun! One of my good friends Elder Savage left today for San Bernardino, Cali, so that was a bummer. I played ball with him a ton! I got his info so I could look him up after we get back. 4-square is totally hard core here! It’s SO funny!! haha :) (I joked about Jordan getting tired of basketball and playing 4-square instead J)
Ash told me she's going with DJ! That’s fun! How did she answer him? I hope she'll get to go with Seth too! That sounds like a really good idea! I HAVE to have pictures of that! Tell Britt to have an amazing time at the dance and to look super cute! I know that's super easy, but tell her anyways :) and don't stress about the cookies mom! I guarantee they have more than they need!! :)

Hi mom!!!
I love you so much!! ps your portuguese is quite phenominal :)
This week has been better. Still up days and down days, but the Lord and I are working our way through it. My teachers are absolutely amazing! They care so much about me and they teach us with the Spirit all the time! Irmao O'Brien is one of my most favorite people in the world! He's my head teacher guy and he just rocks my world! He always makes me feel better about myself and he's always upbeat and postitive and I just love him to death. Another one of my favorite people is Irmao Williams. He's not my official teacher but he's a helper guy who comes in and helps us out. He's not even a teacher but he just cares so much about me and is willing to listen to me when i freak out (haha :) ) and he's so calm and his spirit is just so amazingly awesome. I can't even tell you. I love him.
Oh that scripture is awesome! It's amazing how when you have a question or a concern you get different things out of the scriptures. This week i've been reading the Book of Mormon, and it feels like the entire thing is about missionary work and how much the Lord loves us and how He's always going to take care of us. It's so incredibly. I feel the Lord's love for me every second of every day. I've come so much closer to the Lord......and that's one of the reasons why i'm learning the incredibly difficult language of Portuguese, because the Lord needed me to be humble, and to come to Him, and for me to figure out that there are things we have do do alone physically, away from my family and friends, but I'm NEVER alone spiritually. THe Lord is with me. It's one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
I got to go to the temple today. It's so fantastic. I wish i could spend all day in the temple, but I can't :/ haha. Did I tell you about Elder Hamilton? He's a kid from Ririe that I played ball against and he's going to Mongolia and he's on my same schedule so I play ball with him in gym every day and I saw him at the temple today which is so fun! I also play ball with Elder Savage from Kaysville Utah. I love that man! He's a stud!
I see Elder Harrison everywhere, which is the highlight of everyday almost (physically ;) ) but i ahven't seen sister stoddard or elder bushman yet, but i'm praying the Lord will let me, because it would make me so happy :)
On Sunday we got to watch the movie "Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration" and oh my gosh mom....it's incredible! I don't know if you've seen it but if not you should! It's so crazy how strong the spirit was. If anyone doesn't believe in the Restoration or in Joseph Smith, have them watch that movie. They will not be able to deny it. It made me realize that if Joseph can give up his life for the Lord, and not even flinch, even though he loved his family SO much, I can leave my family for 2 years. It seems like such a small sacrifice.....and it is. That really helped me too :)
Well, that's it for my week i guess....oh no wait!! last tuesday nightat devo we had Elder Holland and Elder Nelson come speak cuz it was a 50 year celebration of the missionary training program! Man I LOVE those 2!! that was specatular! The spirit that was tehre was so sweet!!
So I found out that in the next 2 months, there will be 28 new missionaries in portugal, and 15 of them will be sisters. There are 150 missionaries there now and 15 are sisters. Random cool facts eh? and president Torgan is released in June....so a new boss on the block. another random fact, a guy in my zone going to Cape Verde AFrica is from Ethiopia!!! He's the first ethiopian missionary to come to the US for the MTC and he speaks 5 languages plus he's learning portuguese!! crazy huh??? yeah. cool.
Anyways that's so excitiong for brandon mathews! tell him congrats for me please! haha i'm excited for the girls!!! I hope they do well! i can't blame sarah 1 bit for not wanting to go to another ball game! hahah :) how's ash liking her "nannying"?Tell the Holyoaks I love them so much would you please? I miss them! tell them to write me too ;)
YES!!!!!! about time they're finally getting married!!!!! officially :) May 5th can't come soon enough!! I love Matthew so much!! I can't wait for him to be an official part of our family. He treats her so well and it makes me feel good handing steph off to someone that capable. It made me realize that if Joseph can give up his life for the Lord, and not even flinch, even though he loved his family SO much, I can leave my family for 2 years. It seems like such a small sacrifice.....and it is. That really helped me too :)
Well, that's it for my week i guess....oh no wait!! last tuesday nightat devo we had Elder Holland and Elder Nelson come speak cuz it was a 50 year celebration of the missionary training program! Man I LOVE those 2!! that was specatular! The spirit that was tehre was so sweet!!
So I found out that in the next 2 months, there will be 28 new missionaries in portugal, and 15 of them will be sisters. There are 150 missionaries there now and 15 are sisters. Random cool facts eh? and president Torgan is released in June....so a new boss on the block. another random fact, a guy in my zone going to Cape Verde AFrica is from Ethiopia!!! He's the first ethiopian missionary to come to the US for the MTC and he speaks 5 languages plus he's learning portuguese!! crazy huh??? yeah. cool.
Anyways that's so excitiong for brandon mathews! tell him congrats for me please! haha i'm excited for the girls!!! I hope they do well! i can't blame sarah 1 bit for not wanting to go to another ball game! hahah :) how's ash liking her "nannying"?Tell the Holyoaks I love them so much would you please? I miss them! tell them to write me too ;)
YES!!!!!! about time they're finally getting married!!!!! officially :) May 5th can't come soon enough!! I love Matthew so much!! I can't wait for him to be an official part of our family. He treats her so well and it makes me feel good handing steph off to someone that capable. I just wish i could be there for the celebration part-ay! cardboard cutout is a must! slash also pictures....of everything!! :)

Hey Mom!!
dcdi always has issues so that's normal i guess :) My first lesson was ok. I've taught 3 now. My companion speaks Portuguese fluently so you would think that was a blessing, but it makes it hard because he does most of the talking cuz i'm still trying to figure out what our investigator is saying. Uncool. anyways i'm trying as hard as i can....it's difficult, but it's supposed to be right? I've been praying with all of my heart....please pray for me as well. I need the patinece and diligence to work through it.
My companion is Elder Wilson. He's from Salt Lake City, and like I said, he speaks portuguese fluently because he lived in Brazil for 2 years. We get along ok most of the time. We're so different that it makes it really REALLY hard, but that's also part of a mission right? He might get to leave to Portugal after just 3 weeks because he doesn't need to learn the language if that makes sense. An elder in my room is going to Brazil today to the MTC down there. He got his visa and is taking off. His name is Elder Benally. He's a small Navajo elder from New Mexico and he doesn't say much, but we got to be pretty good friends so I'm gonna miss him. The other elder in my room is ElderMendez. He's from San Jose California, and I like him a lot. He's kind of a goofy guy but to be 100% honest, I like him better than I like my companion but that's ok :) Today he'll become a trio with me and Elder Wilson.
That's so cool about Logan!! i'm so excited! i'll write him today. I got a letter from him that he wrote the day before I came in, so I'll repsond to that.
I'm sorry Ash didn't get the part she wanted!! :( that's no fun! Tell her I love her and I'm super sorry but she'll be a fantastic show girl! ;)
So my district is made up of my room, whom i've told you about, and then 2 sisters going to Cape Verde off the coast of Africa, Portuguese speaking. I get a long with them really well. My Zone Leaders are super fun, but they don't always do everything according to the book, and they make my companion not want to, but I do, so we argue about that....but that's ok. I'm trying really hard to figure out what's ok and what's not if that makes sense?
I LOVE my branch president! He's awesome! I told you I cried to him cuz i was so overwhelmed, but he didn't judge me, and he just loved me. It was so great! He always talks to me and he shows how much he loves me all the time. I love president Crosby. Gym time is fun! I'm making friends with a bunch of elders who have the same gym time. There's an elder from Ririe, Elder Hamilton that's in my gym and I love playing ball with him! And Elder Savage from Salt Lake is becoming my good friend.
I get to go to the temple today!! i'm so excited!!! i LOVE the temple! It's going to be great!
Thank so much for the package! It made my day! and I really needed your letter yesterady. Elder Mendez showed me Mosiah 4:27, and I got your letter, and a teacher talked to me yesterday about being patient with myself and just having faith in the Lord....I think Heavenly Father is trying to tell me something eh?? :)
Hey I didn't get anything in the mail for dad for his birthday. I'm so sorry Dad!! I love you so much and hope your day was awesome! You're getting old but that's ok, I still love you!!
